The Knots Untie (2)

We have tried the fullness of presence.
Now it's time for desolation.

Love is pulling us out by the ears to school.
Love wants us clean of resentment
and those impulses that misguide our souls.
We are asleep, but Khidr
keeps sprinkling water on our faces.
Love will tell us the rest of what
we need to know soon.

Then we'll be deeply asleep and profoundly awake
simultaneously, like cave companions.

  1. if only we could read or were fluent in Rumi's mother tongue. Sometimes I overlook the beauty transpiring from written words because I get stuck wondering "how were they sure Rumi did not say 'convex'"

At the request of a Rumi Reader, I have enabled comments, because I agree that someone, sometime might want to write about the power of Rumi's words. So many times they have met me in ways I just have to share, and so I want you to have that opportunity here. There is no expectation for comments, but please do write something if you feel the urge. ~ Ruth
