i see it very spiritually... full of power and fearlessness, seeking prey that we perceive as larger than ourselves, but which is fully within our grasp (or inside to begin with). "after food", that which nourishes the soul.
i too see it as very spiritually, as acknowledging the beauty to be found in our desperate desire to simply have our need for "daily bread" met...
